Sunrise Park is turning 50 / City Park Events
Sunrise Park is turning 50, and the City of Palm Springs is celebrating all year long with
community events, family activities, and a special anniversary celebration in December.
Since opening in 1976, the 38-acre park along Sunrise Way has become one of Palm Springs’ most beloved gathering places. As the City’s second-largest park, Sunrise Park has welcomed generations of families for picnics, sports, recreation programs, and community celebrations.
To celebrate the milestone, Palm Springs Department of Parks & Recreation will host “50 Years of Sunrise a Year of Play” events throughout 2026, bringing the community together across parks citywide.
