Annual Back-to-School Backpack Drive & Resource Fair

The City of Palm Springs Department of Parks & Recreation invites families to its annual Back-to-School Backpack Drive & Resource Fair on Saturday, August 1, from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Palm Springs Leisure Center (401 S. Pavilion Way). This free community event is designed to help local students and families prepare for a successful school year while connecting them with valuable community resources.

To help ensure a smooth and efficient experience, all participants must register in advance and select a designated timeslot for attendance.

Every student who attends will receive:

• Free backpacks and school supplies
• Access to Community Resource Fair & Activities
• Complimentary Palm Springs Swim Center day pass
• Limited free back-to-school haircuts (first come, first served)

Volunteers & Donations Needed

Volunteer barbers and hairstylists are needed to provide free haircuts for students during the event.

Donations needed: new backpacks and school supplies, including notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, folders, binders, calculators, and other classroom essentials.
